Ryan Coopersmith is a writer/director/editor who has become known for his cinematically absurd comedy sketches, and some of the internet’s most popular and hilarious movie mashups. With a built-in audience of both casual and obsessive movie-lovers, Ryan and his frequent collaborator Charles Muzard, have gathered over 200 million views in their collaboration with Funny Or Die alone.

Most recently, Ryan created and edited “Taylor Swift: The Most Searched Songwriter” as part of Google’s “25 Years in Search” campaign. The spot went on to win a Webby for viral marketing. His work on Google’s “Search-black owned” campaign won a 2021 D&AD Yellow Pencil and his Year in Search 2019 film won a Webby for best branded editorial experience in 2020.

A few years back, Ryan and Funny Or Die released STORM (a Star Wars indie)... a fake trailer for an indie movie set in the Star Wars cinematic universe. The trailer follows a sensitive storm trooper named Ian (played by Ryan), who falls in love with a space creature named Teedo, much to his fathers dismay. The Hollywood Reporter called the video “Emotional and Hilarious!”

Not only do fans love Ryan’s movie mashups, but press frequently report on them and talent post, share and comment on his work - Happy to be included in a celebratory and funny take on their original creation. Jerry Seinfeld, Judd Apatow, Stephen King, Pee Wee Herman, James Corden, Jordan Peele, Sylvester Stallone, Katy Perry, & even the MLB have all enthusiastically shared his videos which are available to stream on Amazon Prime as well as FunnyorDie. “The Alamo Drafthouse” even features his fake trailers before real movies!

Ryan has created exclusive comedy sketches and series’ for Comedy Central, FunnyorDie, OTRO, Playboy, College Humor, The Rich Eisen Show, Steve Aoki, and brands such as Frito-Lay, Wix, Heineken, MLS, Red Bull, Car & Driver, and The Winter Olympics.

Once upon a time, Ryan was the grand prize winner of Canada’s nation-wide Doritos commercial contest. The event took place live on MuchMusic, with Ryan’s youtube channel Boo Ya Pictures winning 25,000$ plus 1% of all flavor sales.

Ryan is also currently developing movie & TV projects and is represented by WME.
